Your good vibes needed here

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Thu May 01, 2008 9:23 am

could you spare us some good thoughts today?

some thing has occurred and I'm in some shock right now. I can't really go into it right now, as we don't have all the information, but all the support you could send is needed.

Generic support is good. :(

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
