Dr. Phil McGraw

Dr. Phil is playing for When Georgia Smiled, devoted to the fight against sexual assault and domestic violence, sponsoring shelters where victims can go and find a safe place. His wife promised that he would make up the difference if he lost. His +1 is Pam Mueller. He has the option to keep her and trade another lifeline; he decides to use her instead of Ask the Host.

$64,000: "Firm ball" and "soft crack" are familiar terms to anyone who manufactures what for a living
A - cheese
B - automobile tires
C - golf clubs
D - candy

If he were going to guess Dr. Phil would choose "candy", but he's not going to do so. He decides to Phone a Friend and call Sarah Carden, a senior supervising news producer on his show. She has a broad base of knowledge.
Spoiler
Phone a Friend results: He reads the question and Sarah knows the answer because her parents work in a candy store. She just manages to give the answer before time runs out.
Since that was his gut instinct, he decides to make that his final answer.
Spoiler
Answer: D (candy)

Jimmy says that "firm ball" is sugar syrup at 245 degrees and "soft crack" at 270 degrees.
$125,000: Which of these mountains is mentioned in the lyrics of Toto's soft-rock classic "Africa"?
A - Everest
B - Denali
C - Kilimanjaro
D - Fuji

Dr. Phil asks if Jimmy can hum a few bars. Dr. Phil decides to ask Pam, even though she's young and probably doesn't listen to music that's 50 years old. He says he'll be sad if it's Kilimanjaro because that's what he thinks it is.
Spoiler
Ask the +1 results: Pam says that he'll be sad because it's Kilimanjaro and she quotes the relevant lyric ("rises like Olympus above the Serengeti". She thought he'd get there because it's the only one that's in Africa.
Spoiler
Answer: C (Kilimanjaro)
commercial break

$250,000: The U.S. nuclear codes are carried in a briefcase called the "football," but the president also carries them on a small plastic card nicknamed what?
A - the bow tie
B - the biscuit
C - the frisbee
D - the fly swatter

Dr. Phil and Jimmy joke about Donald Trump using it as a credit card, or a keycard for his hotel room. Dr. Phil finds it absurd that they would be in a locked briefcase and also on a card. He says it would be a total guess so he decides to walk away. He was thinking it was either "B" or "C" and would have made "B" his final answer.
Spoiler
Answer: B (the biscuit)
commercial break

Dr. Phil McGraw
Well, either the show staff spoke to Dr. Phil about speeding up or they decided not to air more of his indecisiveness.

I'd probably have to use a lifeline on this one. Go with 50:50.

This one is a no-brainer. I agree with Pam - I figured Dr. Phil would know which of those mountains was in Africa.
