Character actor, perhaps best known for appearances on V (as the supreme commander, reprised in V: The Final Battle) and Star Trek:Voyager (as Admiral Paris, father of Tom Paris). He was also in All the President's Men and The China Syndrome. He was 87 and the cause of death was "cancer-related".
Edited to change spelling of his last name. Thanks, vandal.

Wasn't he also George's boss at the Yankees on Seinfeld?
