Look for Mars in the west just below Castor and Pollux, the head stars of Gemini. The rings of Saturn are easy to see even with a small telescope, and when my son's Boy Scout troop went camping last weekend, one of the parents brought along an 11" telescope, and we were able to see four of Saturn's moons, too. The full moon was out as well, although it was overwhelmingly bright, even with a lunar filter on the eyepiece.
