I'll put all my thoughts in a spoiler, been watching sporadically and had it on tonight.

Just noting that I would definitely be playing for $500,000 if I were to go on this show, since I would not risk $475000 even if it is 90 or 95% likely I'll get one I get right.

I don't get them all right, even given a juicy category. Example: Today I missed one in my "best" subject from my days in school, math. Like the contestant I associated 'unit' with one for 'unit fraction' and figured it had to be a fraction that equals one.

"The Blonde" didn't do badly; she walked with $175K. But, boy, did she have the Blonde act down!

I also got tripped up by the unit fraction question, Snaxx.

If the denominator is 5, what would the numerator be to make a unit fraction?

I watched the show. I would have had to have been saved on the "unit fraction" question - I've never heard the term. But I'd have made it to the $1M question. I don't know if I'd have been willing to go for the question (which I wouldn't have been able to answer correctly, FWIW).

As for the second contestant, I was good on all her questions, even the last one.

Adverbs describe "how, when or where", so "everywhere" had to be an adverb. That Cody said "preposition" surprised me.

I thought it was excessive. I told elwing that if I ever get on that show (haven't heard anything back yet even though I submitted an application) I'd try to be the "anti-contestant". No leaping, no jumping, just a straightforward answering of the questions. It would be a refreshing change at least (IMO).

The odds of getting cast by the producers with that approach are less than winning the lottery, but if you did get on the air and acted like that, it would drive Jeff Foxworthy absolutely bonkers!

How many times could he repeat the question and imply you're misinterpretted it, while you patiently ignored all his theatrics, I wonder?

I didn't have any idea what a "unit fraction" is either. I would have needed to be saved on that one. This must be some new math term that most people over 40 have never dealt with-I don't remember anything about "unit fractions" from my school days-of course, that was over 30 years ago-and math was my worst subject.

I fall into that category as well as I had never heard the term and would have missed it, going with 5 as the cast member did. Usually math is absurdly simple on this show but that one got me. I continue to struggle with english and especially grammar questions, no doubt courtesy of a public education in the south...

Both contestants had questions about adverbs and I managed to guess correctly both times but was not sure on either. And where the heck did the term "helping verb" come from? I had never heard that either before this show.
