Jeopardy! Surprise!

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Thu Apr 24, 2008 8:03 pm

I got an e-mail invitation to the in-person Jeopardy! audition in Dallas on May 22 as a follow-up to January's on-line test. I am thrilled, I am delighted, and I can fit a trip to Dallas into my schedule, yes, indeed.

Now, I must get Annie to grow skin faster so they will let her and Lizbit stay at the boarding kennel overnight. Once I explain the situation, I'm sure she will cooperate fully.

Kewl. It's been a while since Chez 78164 has hosted a Jeopardy! post-taping party. So after you wow them, please let us know your taping date. --Bob

Congratulations and good luck. I also tried for the Dallas audition, but it doesn't look good.

Huh? Why would Yorktown, Texas host a Jeopardy party?

Congratulations. Why is it a surprise? Did you think you failed the test, or are there known odds that would make any call a longshot?

Good luck in Dallas!

In past attempts, I once was "certain" I had passed, but did not hear my name called, and I since have been "pretty close, one way or another" and did not get summoned further. This year I again was on the line, and I had run out of optimism.

So, I was surprised when this face -- :( -- turned into this :D

A few days ago, I answered a question and got an error message and my points didn't register. They don't give do-overs either, so I lost points for the day.

I hope that this doesn't happen to you.

Okay, I signed up for Sploofus. I answered my first question for 1,210 points. (I have no idea if that's good or bad.) Tomorrow I will go back and poke around the site some more. Now, I think I must sleep for a bit.

That happened to me once when I flinched while clicking and doubleclicked on the "submit" button.

It has also happened when my internet server timed out waiting for the site to update.

Either way, it's frustrating, I agree.
