Another one of those people you've seen hundreds of times but never known who he was. He was the Dallas detective who was escorting Lee Harvey Oswald through the police station when Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby. He was also at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked serving on a destroyer tender and saw the first wave of Japanese planes coming in. It's a cliché to say you could make a movie about somebody's life, but this guy's life would make one heck of a movie or TV series. (The link has some fascinating information about him.) Age 99.
