Re: When did
I believe my first service was with Cellular One. As I recall early on a single company tended to dominate a particular region. Wasn't much in the way of competition. The names seemed to change alot in the 90's though as companies merged and split.Catfish wrote:And actually, the service may not have been Verizon but whatever morphed into Verizon.Catfish wrote:Yes! Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I got my first cell in 1989 - The "Brick" as has been pictured. IIRC, the phone and extra batteries cost about $550.TheCalvinator24 wrote:1983? I'm talking about when the average person started getting them. When they stopped costing more than $1000, and were smaller than a WWII issue walkie-talkie
I consider myself very average - Ask any BAM AP.
