Grocery shopping for Beebs

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Sun Jul 28, 2019 2:55 pm

Kellogg's has announced a brand new cereal brand: Baby Shark!

Doo doo doo doo doodoodoodoo.

(I'm not exactly certain that I have the right number of doos in all the right places, as I seem to be one of the three remaining people in North America that does not know the song. I doo know the lyrics, however, in one order or another.)

I would love to see the research that concluded this would be an appealing name/design for cereal.

I think it must have involved opinion polling among preschoolers.

It's Shark Week!
It has nothing to do with the timing of Shark Week. It's a video, book, merchandising gimmick, etc.

Whatever will make them money.

I know what it is, but I'm sure the timing was intentional.

Are you in charge of their marketing? Is that why it's being released 2 WEEKS after the END of Shark Week?

It won't make the LSWE since I'm one of the other three people who is not familiar with it. And I'm fine with that, so no playing the video...

Oh, my!!

I can't tell my neighbor across the street - three of her four grandsons love that!

They are all big fans of Boonie, the little ones. My neighbor watches them a couple of days a week and they always want to stand in the driveway and wave at Boonie. "Hi, Steve!"

He calls them The Bubs. And now, they call each other Bub. Twins almost two and one almost three.

What retort is necessary? They announced it just before Shark Week, I doubt that was a coincidence. The delay was probably unavoidable.

Adorable.
Skoop - it's so funny because when the twins call each other Bub, they giggle conspiratorially. As if they are some exclusive club. The two of them and their brother. And Boonie.

And then, when they start to giggle, that only makes them laugh more. And of course, when we start laughing, they laugh more because they are entertaining us and they know it.

This can go on for 15 minutes with one Bub.

I asked my wife why all the sudden popularity of the song. She said something about a video but was unaware that the song is actually much older. I remember singing it on camp outs with Indian Princesses around 2002.
