The "crisis" isn't rampant crime or terrorism caused by these immigrants as Trump claims. The only crisis that exists is one due to overcrowded conditions, separating families, and harsh incarcerations and deportations. That's a humanitarian problem and it was manufactured by Trump's draconian policies. A more sensible immigration policy instead of whining about Build the Wall would take care of this problem in a matter of weeks.flockofseagulls104 wrote: Yes, you're using the approved term 'manufactured crisis' which has been bandied about by all the leftist 'pundits' who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. Well as long as Donald Trump is President and his toadies like McConnell control the Senate we won't see any sensible immigration reform. That's been my point for a longer time. What we do see is Donald Trump taking those actions within his power to make things worse.flockofseagulls104 wrote: Really. Well, why don't they do it? Batphone must be ringing off the hook now. "Sensible". I thought that was for the left's stupid gun laws. Now it's for immigration, too? There is nothing 'sensible' about your beloved party. Just to pick on one of your rants, why is getting rid of the "electoral" (I assume you mean electoral college here) insane? There's no other Western democracy that has anything like that. The only reason to keep it is because it makes it more likely that a minority party (the Republicans) can maintain power. As recently as 1969, both parties wanted to abolish the electoral college.
And for the record, there are no major Democratic politicians who are in favor of socialism. That's just a boogeyman the right throws out there to scare people. The actual policies they favor turn out to be quite popular with the public when they are actually discussed instead of dismissed with a "socialist" label.
Most of the Democratic ideas right now are general, because the details need to be worked out. But Republicans have no ideas about health care about the environment about immigration (other than "build the wall"). All they do is run on fear: fear of minorities, fear of immigrants, fear of crime, fear of "socialism." Just listen to yourself Flock and they've got you so worked up you're practically crapping in your pants about what the Democrats might do if they get into office.

This, of course, is a damned lie. Ah yes, the ubiquitous "Well, just kill them before (or shortly after) birth since the Repubs won't fund them for life" argument. That's a winner.

(You are one sick puppy).
On the other hand, we have decades of watching Republicans wring their hands in mock piety over mass shooting after mass shooting while obstinately opposing any policy that might actually reduce them. The record is clear. You care more about your own supposed right to keep your hands on the guns of your choice than you care about the thousands and thousands of children killed by guns every year. Your actions tell us as much. --Bob

So any celebration of women's rights constitutes reveling in abortion? The nineteenth century is calling. It wants its attitudes back. --BobBackInTex wrote:They do revel in abortion up to the moment of birth, unless you don't consider lighting One World Trade Center pink as reveling.
