Re: Lunar eclipse
I'm counting on NASA and countless observatories to take better photos than I would get. You just beat me on posting this topic, as I was delayed by the need to herd two furry girls back inside. Lizbit had launched into some long-winded lecture to Wiki about eclipses in general and what causes them. Wiki just wanted to jump to the moon to get a better look close-up. If I understood correctly, Lizbit finally told Wiki she shouldn't do that, because the moon was getting undressed so it could put its light in the washing machine.Beebs52 wrote:You can see it coming up from the bottom. Can't take a pic that works.

Tell them the moon isn't allowing any pics of its covering up, at least by me. It's weird. My camera only shows a full moon...
Well, then

Re: Lunar eclipse
My camera took a couple of horrifically bad photos, so I gave up on that.
I'll just watch.

It is stupid cold here. We went outside for a minute, but couldn't figure it out.
I did see the gorgeous full moon when I got home from work a few hours ago.

Re: Lunar eclipse
You mean there's places where it hasn't literally been cloudy since Christmas? I seriously think the sun and moon were considered nonessential and got furloughed...

I was on a plane, on the aisle, wrong side of the plane anyway.

I got to see it live. Interesting, not spectacular. For anyone who missed it the published pics show the same thing.

Re: Lunar eclipse
We had a great good view here from the front step. Went in and out several times in the cold to check on progress. I probably gave up and went to bed before the grand finale, but it was almost completely covered and very dark red on the bottom 2/3 of the moon.
