You really have lunch at lunchtime on your weekends? Your body doesn't expect lunch around 4 am, as usual?

It scared the hell out of me when my bed started shaking. Well, there's one more experience I can scratch off my list. I just can't believe in almost 33 years here I have yet to see a tornado....

Earthquakes are freaky. Here's a link to the only one I actually "felt" and it was when we were living in Rochester,NY. Just prior to moving to Huntington Beach, CA, where we never felt much of anything, just noticed pictures that kept falling to the floor or swaying chandeliers.

Our bed was shaking and I looked at Jeff and he said, "Is it the cat?" The cat was sitting bugeyed on the end of the bed going, "Ain't me." Pictures were flapping against the walls--we thought a truck had hit us or something.

All my daydreams are disasters
She's the one I think I love
Rivers burn and then run backwards
And for her, that's enough

They all come from New York City
And they woke me up at dawn
She walked with me to the fountain
And held onto my arm

Come on do what you did
Roll me on to New Madrid
Shake my baby and please bring her back
'Cause death won't even be still
Caroms over the landfill
Buries us all in his broken back

There's a man of conviction
And although he's gettin' old
Mister Browning has a prediction
We've all been told

So come on back to New York City
Roll your trucks in at dawn
And walk with me to the fountain
And hold onto my arm

Come on do what you did
Roll me on to New Madrid
Shake my baby and please bring her back
'Cause death won't even be still
Caroms over the landfill
Buries us all in its broken back

I actually felt this one - probably because I was up on the 8th floor of our building (where my office is).

Coach Foolery, I haven't heard a word from you since they stopped broadcasting the Lolligag Wildcats games on KTCK. If I'da known it was you behind this Foolery, I never wudda called for an end to it.

I used to have cottage cheese and M&Ms (separately) for breakfast. Of course that was in college. Now I just have the M&Ms.

I have been drinking water for lunch since my first stone in 2002.

The cookies are the only snack that goes good with the water, and I sure as hell don't bring in real food for lunch. I have to maintain my level of weirdness....

That's it--I quit. I'm turning you over to Bix now. May she show you no mercy!

I have such a hard time packing my kids' lunchboxes with stuff they'll eat that travels well. They only like pbj if it's freshly made, and I can't pack cereal everyday. Or ever, actually. I'm so happy Mini-me like carrots with Ranch dressing and Rain Man will eat Uncrustables if I pack them in a container that keeps them from getting crushed. I actually look forward to non-school days so they eat something decent!

Miss Annie, is it true that four-footers have some sort of "sixth sense" that informs them before earthquakes happen?

Yes, it is true, but if our sixth sense tells us that the earthquake won't be any big deal, we may forget to tell the two-footers about it.

If it will be a big deal, we're outta here. Four-footers would rather deal with earthquakes underneath the open sky than underneath anybody's roof.

Oh no, not my psycho 4th grade teacher! The one who gave me an F in science (The only F to ever appear on one of my report cards) because of my sloppy handwriting on the 3 science assigments we did all year, the one who dumped out all untidy desks in front of the whole class (Guess who the worst offender was), the one who was also the only thorn in the side of two of my four sisters....

Not HER!!!!
