I must say I am loving the Avatar option. It's fun in and of itself, and gives ... um, interesting (scary) insight into the minds of 'some.'
Christie's is pretty, 'gor's makes me alternately laugh and gag; mini's surprised me not-at-all  I loves them all.

Am I in the minortiy about this? I assume I am.
You're not alone. A lot of us liked the flat view with previews that the TUB offered us. In the discussions in the past week, it was said that flat view is not an option on any version of the phpBB software, so we'll have to live without it and do more clicking than we're used to.

However...

Since phpBB is Open Source software, it might be possible that some of us computer geeks might look into this and try to come up with an implementation of this feature. I'm not familiar with php and I have no idea how feasible that is or how much work would be involved, but there's a chance.
Yes, that's probably doable, but we'd have to have access to the phpBB source and here we do not.

Well, apparently there is no avatar gallery on here. So I'll have to figure out how to load it from BobJ's board. Next class.

All of us who post here are BAM fans. Some are previous contestants from both the primetime version and the syndicated version, others are perennial hopefuls. Some of those who posted on our previouis home haven't made it here yet, but we hope they will.

Welcome, shade!

Yes, it looks like this will be the place. Even if there are a few residual arguments still simmering in the background.

Speaking of which (former contestants & previous posters) has anyone sent a change of address card to Skoop yet?
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

What isn't so nice is it shows what the user is doing at a particular moment - posting a message, checking the memberlist or something else. I guess it's no big deal, but it is a little "big brother-ish" for my taste. Yes, I know you can hide your online status.
What are you seeing that I'm not seeing? Yes, the phpBB software tracks who has been active on the board recently (like in the past 10 minutes, I think) and lists those names. But where are you seeing the "what they are doing info?" I've never seen that. It doesn't especially bother me. I'm either reading posts or writing posts or whatever. Why else would I be on the board? I can't think of anything embarrassing or nefarious that would be cause for concern.

OK, maybe I'm crazy or maybe one of the moderators made a change, but somewhere I clicked and it ilsted the people who were online and what they were doing - posting a message, reading the FAQ, or other activity. I'm unable to find it now.

And while you're right that there wouldn't be anything nefarious that would be revealed, it was still a little more than I thought would be available to the average person (if indeed I wasn't just dreaming the whole thing).

Yay! You were on the missing-in-action list there for a bit.

If your avatar is your portrait, you're looking very distinguished today. (Okay, you're probably looking very distinguished even after you tell us which Pope that is.)

The only place I've seen this is on the Admin page. It feels voyeuristic even there.

But I'm not an administrator or moderator and yet at one point I would swear that I saw such a list. It had several people listed, including myself, Marley, JBillyGirl and several others. This is going to drive me crazy.

The index page shows which registered members are online, but it doesn't say what we're doing. Maybe you got the special SpyCam plug-in?

I wasn't sure where to post this question but are any big names registered at this site (or previous Millionaire sites): Like John Carpenter, Kevin Smith, Nancy Christy, Ogi Ogas, Dan Blonsky, Kevin Olmstead, David Goodman, Joe Trela and others that have slipped my mind at the moment (and pardon my mispelling of any of there names)

Yes, but not under those names. If you stick around long enough, you might figure it out over time.

Nancy is a regular. Goodman and the teacher from Tennessee put in some time as semi regulars. Carpenter, Blonsky & Trela have done drivebys. Joe's mom has been a presence for years. At the end of the workday, that's the best I can do.

I see, then I guess I'll just keep my eyes open. I have deep respect for anyone able to win a Million (or 500,000) on WWTBAM. I even have a lot of respect for anyone who has ever appeared on the show, it's not an easy thing to do.

TheConfessor isn't Ed Toutant is it, for some reason I just had a feeling.
