Writing big checks

To Uncle Sam and Cousin Deval. :(

How come when I earn too much, the IRS takes away my tax breaks, but when the oil companies earn too much, it's "we can't do anything about it except hold hearings" from the Congresscritters?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I get a largish refund from the feds ($800-something which pays for kitty surgery), and the state owed me $17, which I told them to give to the endangered wildlife fund.

I got to send a chunk to Uncle Sam - there was a bunch of wierd stuff in 2007 - my favorite line from the CPA I hired (the first time ever I didn't just do them myself) - "Well, I've never seen this fact pattern before."

There should be a sepcial place in hell for the evil people that invented (and perpetuate) AMT.

Way back when I was married to Dr Dick, we were both self employed. He had a professional corporation and I had a DBA. We did not make large enough quarterly deposits. I cried for days.

I met with the accountant the next day and told him that his job was to make sure I didn't cry next April 16.

He did his job.

We owed after that and I always knew what we would owe and I had it saved.
