When should slam audition?
I asked this question before, but I wanted more feedback about when I, a "where else" (but not "what else") MAWG should audition during this current audition season.
Remember, because I live about a 15 minute walk from the studio, I have full flexibility as to when I audition.
All constructive feedback is welcome.

Slam, I've tried all of these choices, and I don't believe I know any better than anyone else. Let's face it, you and I (and many others here, including many who have been successful in their quest) are not the primary demographic. We have to make ourselves known in ways other than just showing up and doing well on the test...we have to STAND OUT, not just be OUTSTANDING. So while I did cast a vote (week 3 or 4), I really don't think it matters. Make a big splash, and they'll take you, plain and simple.
But you know all that anyway.
Best of luck this year, buddy!

I think the best time to go is 3-4 weeks before the first tapings. You want to be eligible for as many tape dates as possible, but you want to be fresh on the minds of the TPTB while they are making the first round of calls.
I do agree with KT that some have to work harder to make themselves stand out and my above advice is not intended in anyway to minimize it.

I really do not know "when" you should audition, but do audition, you cannot win if you do not play.slam wrote:I asked this question before, but I wanted more feedback about when I, a "where else" (but not "what else") MAWG should audition during this current audition season.

Living 15 minutes away from the studio just might be a plug you could use during the audition. "I am available, anytime" theme.
Good luck.
For whatever reason, I have good vibe feelings that we will see a couple of BBs in the hotseat next season.

Interestingly, KT is one of the very few BB's who I have actually met in person. Along with Hbomb and my younger son, we attended an episode of Celebrity J! when it taped at Radio City Music Hall.

Re: When should slam audition?
There was never a chance that I wouldn't audition once or twice this season. I'm working on my approach for this year. It might make sense to slip in the "available anytime" theme. Thanks.kusch wrote:I really do not know "when" you should audition, but do audition, you cannot win if you do not play.slam wrote:I asked this question before, but I wanted more feedback about when I, a "where else" (but not "what else") MAWG should audition during this current audition season.

You've only met a few BBs? Lots of us make the pilgrimage to the ABC studios every year; you ought to join us for the post-taping gatherings more often!slam wrote:Interestingly, KT is one of the very few BB's who I have actually met in person. I've always taken note when you come in and have some sort of gathering. So far, I've always had conflicts at those specific times. But, hey, you never know.MarleysGh0st wrote:You've only met a few BBs? LOL - I may be one of those people you don't want to meet until you are sure you want to meet more BBs.slam wrote:I've always taken note when you come in and have some sort of gathering. This is utter nonsense, of course. Pea is a delightful person, even with her golf obsession.

There isn't an "all of the above" choice, so I didn't vote. I'm just glad you are persevering (did I spell that right?)

All of the above seems a little extreme, doesn't it? They'd have the snipers to take me out as I turned the corner onto 66th Street.tlynn78 wrote:There isn't an "all of the above" choice, so I didn't vote. I'm just glad you are persevering (did I spell that right?)

If I audition during the summertime, I'd then attend a taping and audition again (assuming an "unhappy card", of course) sometime in September or October. I tried to do that last year, but work intervened on a few occasions so the 2nd audition didn't happen. My feeling is that more than twice in a season would start to hurt rather than help my chances.

I already received the confirmation for 5pm on Tuesday, May 13th. So, Bob numbers you can start your annual list!
By the way, there are a few new questions on the application:
1. Quirks, rituals, superstitions…What makes you unique?
3. What is one thing you do that makes people laugh?
4. If you could vote yourself as best-_____ or most-likely-to_____, what would be your vote?

#3 and #4 were on my application form when I auditioned late last year (about three weeks from the end of taping). #1 is new, though.slam wrote:I already received the confirmation for 5pm on Tuesday, May 13th. So, Bob numbers you can start your annual list!

don't know how much weight your answers to the questionnaire carry - my last 3 interviews with the AP, we never discussed anything that was on it. when he saw I was from Texas, asked me how many pickups I owned (this Q was not on questionnaire, for some reason..)[/u]
