An editorial called Is There a Santa Claus? appeared in the September 21, 1897, edition of The (New York) Sun. The famous phrase "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" was used in the response. It is the most reprinted newspaper editorial in the English language.

The most widely reprinted newspaper editorial is a classic example of fake news. Why am I not surprised....
