They could market Blues Brothers as a sleep-aid
I have tried to watch this movie at least 20 times. I normally fall asleep about 15-20 minutes in. Last night-I tried to outsmart myself and started at that point. I made it about 1 minute and out cold.
I have vague memories of seeing parts of it on cable in college in the 80's.
New life goal-actually making it through this movie.

whatever? test
The bored does not like me today. It fails to recognize me, like a ^*^*^)&) speaker of a representative body. I do not know whether this will show up in the Blues Brothers thread. When and if it is, I think I will let the internet be for now.

I have never been able to stay awake through "Dances with Wolves" and yet I loved the book.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

What's the last scene in the movie that you remember? Maybe it's triggering some kind of post-hypnotic suggestion?Spock wrote:I have tried to watch this movie at least 20 times. Also are you seeing an edited/censored version? The penguin scene is infinitely more hilarious in the orignal version. Then when Jake gets the call, I'm locked in until the end.
Been finding it harder to stay awake through night-time viewings of "It's A Wonderful Life" in recent years. I usually nod off shortly after Clarence shows up, but come to around "Merry Christmas Movie House!"

One of the things I liked about the movie was that they were always calm no matter what was going on. At one point they were driving through a shopping mall with the police chasing them, smashing store windows and causing people to scatter, and they were carrying on a normal conversation. ("This mall has everything.")
And don't forget the great music.

I watched "The Graduate" this week...
..on AMC.
First time in about 20 years.
And it suddenly dawned on me that the movie, quite frankly, sucked.
Never knew what I saw in it before.
