Looks like jury nullification to me

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Fri Aug 25, 2017 1:44 pm

The seven armed people who seized federal property in Oregon were acquitted of all charges. I'll be interested to hear the jury's reasoning, if any of them give interviews.

I drove through Malheur County on Monday on my way between Boise and my eclipse viewing site. --Bob

That acquittal happened last year.

What happened yesterday was a different case (with some of the same actors) regarding grazing rights in Nevada. It acquitted most of the participants of most charges (but not everything).

The story is dated today. I remember the acquittals last year, but based on the story, I think this one happened in Oregon. --Bob

Bob,

Read the article that you posted. It has a quote from Oregon's governor, dated in October 2016, after the Oregon acquittal. There was a decision this week regarding a Nevada standoff.

So it does. Thanks for setting me straight. --Bob
