GW, BD and my mom are off visiting my grandniece (and only incidentally my niece and nephew-in-law). They, meaning BD, sent me a phone photo of the new person. Cute, of course. How could she not be, since she's a member of my family?
I'm home, nursing my foot and waiting (HA!) to see if the elliptical repairman shows up. He was going to be in my town all day on repair calls, and said he would call about an hour before he would be coming so I could get home from work. As it turned out, BD was home all day, so I would not have had to come home. As it turned out, the lying SOB never showed up. And my elliptical still sits idle and broken. I suppose I would have to wait until my foot healed before using it myself, but the others in the family want to use it, too.
On another health note, I've started on a cholesterol drug. The elliptical is apparently no longer quite working the magic it did initially. My HDL is great, but the LDL and totals have risen again. Genetic thing, since both parents and my sister have the same deal with cholesterol issues. So I'm on generic Zocor. We shall see how it goes. I have an appointment in about a month for the blood tests.
So, foot elevated, laptop in lap, keeping the dog company on the first floor. Such is my exciting life in the big city.

Is your shoulder OK?
I also have genetic high LDL numbers. I didn't know Zocor was generic now. I"m on Crestor and fortunately have had no side effects at all. It's expensive as all get out, although I only pay $30.00. It works great and got my total number down from close to 300 to 160. HDL numbers are great and now so are the LDL numbers.
See if you can get that pic of your grand niece on the computer. Shouldn't be too hard to do if you can email it to yourself.
So, is there no chance of seeing the repairman today? I'd be calling tomorrow giving them the what for!

Shoulder isn't the real problem, it's my foot. Or rather the right big toe. Since I tripped with the left foot, I'm not quite sure what happened on the right. I suspect I jammed it trying to stay upright, reinjuring the thing. The left shoulder hit the rolling shelves. It's not any more painful than a mild flu shot reaction. But walking is a real adventure in pain for the moment.
I think it's generic, because the bottle lists it under the generic name, simvastatin. The paperwork says it's also known as Zocor. Whatever. $10.00 for 30 day supply till we're sure it works without the side effects. I'll have to look up what the mail order 90 day supply costs. That may be only $10, too. First the local pharmacy, though, to make sure it's right for me. The doc tried giving me Crestor, but apparently it's not in my medical coverage's formulary and required a preauthorization. She had to go for another one to avoid going through those hoops and delaying things further.
If I can remember how to post to snapfish or whatever I signed up for, I'll stick a photo into it. My nephew just sent a couple over our family mailing list. Standard new baby pics with the stocking cap, but she's still cute. Like I'd say otherwise.
Repairman never showed, and never called. BD was on the house phone for maybe a total of 15 minutes all day, not continuous. If he called at one of those times, he got a busy signal and was too much of a jerk to call back. Wouldn't surprise me, after the stupidity he pulled last week. I'm going over his head and his company's head, and calling the warranty company. If his company is in danger of losing the repair franchise for the warranty work, maybe he'll show up when he says he will. If he says he was here and no one was home, he's a liar b/c BD was here all day with her car in the driveway. At this point, I'm going to ask for another year on the extended warranty. It's cost me nearly that much in missed work time.
