Monk ain't gonna like that!
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.

Some people are like a Slinky. They are not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs...

From "Dr. Kroger's Blog:"
I would never say that Adrian Monk is my favorite patient; I'm much too professional for that. Let's just say, once again, he's one of the patients who means a lot to me. Nothing would please me more than to see a time, someday, when Adrian is secure enough to deal with the day-to-day grind of being a police officer again. Other than having Trudy back or at least discovering who her killer is I know nothing would please Adrian more than being back on the force. But, quite frankly, I would miss seeing him every week. While as a professional psychiatrist I hope that Adrian will one day be well enough to no longer require my services, there is a part of me that hopes he'll keep stopping by to sit across from me and tell me how his life is going. Perhaps we could even, one day, sing a duet.
Rats. No duet.
