Is Will Durst worth reading?

#1 Post by kusch » Tue Apr 08, 2008 7:39 am

I was checking out the Masters site and noticed he will be blogging throughout the tournament.

I really know nothing about Will, is he funny?

I have to DVR Saturday's round, :( our great ND Golf Association executive director would not budget on moving the date of our Spring meeting that is set for this Saturday. When he sent out the dates to choose from I told him anything but the 12th, I still cannot believe that the votes were more for the 12th rather than last Saturday or May 2nd.

And on top of that, a couple of directors will now be in Denver watching the Frozen Four. UND Fighting Sioux are there for the 3rd straight year.

I heard a little of him on one of the XM Radio comedy channels, and I didn't think he was that funny, but that's true of just about any comic. Sometimes the 3-5 minutes they play just doesn't tickle my funny bone.

Durn it, I didn't see this thread when I posted:

viewtopic.php?t=5029

I wrote about Durst tonight:

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/04/ ... snt-terri/

His blog is absolutely awful, unfunny, and I am guessing not reverent enough for the peeps that run the Masters. He is also very much known for his political satire, so I am guessing some there might not appreciate their official blogger speaking negatively about the prez.

FanHouse is doing our blog here:

But my favorite straight up, kick ass golf blogger is here:

http://www.geoffshackelford.com/homepage/

He knows what he is talking about and obviously works hard on his blogging. He has some great stuff on the Masters.

Thanks for the links Bix.

Btw, I did posted a couple of comments to Durst's blog, but not sure they will post them. They screen all comments before they allow them to be posted.

The funny thing is that someone who is clearly reading comprehension impaired left a comment on my blog post thought I was an advocate for George Bush.

LOL.

Though admittedly I did vote in the Republican primary yesterday in the runoff elections due my interests in the DA/judicial races, and not really caring strongly about the presidential races.

I read that comment and thought it "spot on". :D

Not really, I did chuckle and had a wry smile on my face thinking of your reaction to the comment.

It was just funny to me in a number of different ways-1. given my politics, and 2. that I tried not to make this a particularly political post.
