More on the menu and venue.
Hors d'Oeuvres:
Mini-cheeseburgers, some without cheese to accomodate the kosher family and their kids. And, of course, the tangy tomato dipping sauce.
Stuffed mushrooms.
BBQ chicken and cheese quesadillas.
Diced tomato and fresh mozzarella on a garlic baguette, AKA bruschetta.
Main course: see yesterday's entry. I had it right.
Dessert: Cookies and biscotti, along with the wedding cupcakes. Also chocolate-covered strawberries. The biscotti and berries indulge both GW and BD.
Alcohol: All liquor levels available, priced on consumption basis for our cost. Includes Jack Daniels, Johnny Walker Black and Red, Makers Mark, Tanqueray, Grand Marnier and various other cordials, beers (the most exotic of which is Corona), etc. I had to laugh at the fact that Southern Comfort and Captain Morgan are on their "premium brand" list.
No champagne toast planned, though some will be with the wedding party for the post-ceremony photos. I do need to work on whatever I'm gonna say. Maid of honor has been told she has to say something, which I'm sure will be a hoot. She's fun.
Fireplace (gas) will be lit for decor. The two floral altar arrangements will be brought inside and put at the fireplace base for the reception afterwards. Bouquets will go on the mantlepiece.
Ceremony outside on the patio, overlooking the greenery and the greens. It IS a country club, after all. Excessive heat or rain brings it indoors to the entryway, which has the chandeliers.
Red napkins in fan-fold at each place. Mainly eight per table, up to ten depending on our guest total. Probably won't be too many tens, if any.
Head table will be bride and groom, and both sets of parents.
Those are the major parts. Ask about any details that I haven't covered.

I know, the thought of "tangy tomato sauce" is very appealing.earendel wrote:When should we expect to see our invitations?gsabc wrote:More on the menu and venue.
