Get US out of the UN

#1 Post by earendel » Thu Jan 26, 2017 2:01 pm

The John Birch Society is alive and well and living in the 115th Congress. To wit:

H.R. 193 - American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017

This bill repeals the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and other specified related laws.

The bill requires: (1) the President to terminate U.S. membership in the United Nations (U.N.), including any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body; and (2) closure of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

The bill prohibits: (1) the authorization of funds for the U.S. assessed or voluntary contribution to the U.N., (2) the authorization of funds for any U.S. contribution to any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (3) the expenditure of funds to support the participation of U.S. Armed Forces as part of any U.N. military or peacekeeping operation, (4) U.S. Armed Forces from serving under U.N. command, and (5) diplomatic immunity for U.N. officers or employees.

Not only that but it basically kicks the UN out of the country by saying that the 1945 agreement to place the UN headquarters in NYC is revoked.

Not surprisingly, this bill was introduced by someone from my native Alabama, Rep. Mike Rodgers.

I don't see your folks stepping up to take the U.N. Its a house of rats.

When your government opens its borders to people who have little to contribute, to people who take your citizens' jobs, then you can talk.

Hell, I almost couldn't get to a damn two day meeting at our office in Edmonton one time because "Why can't a Canadian attend the meeting?". Really?

You have no idea the burden of the filth that has invaded this country. None.

Are the current administration's reactions and solutions extreme, to the point of ridiculousness? Yep. But his constituents have had enough. And are fighting back, even though fighting is not PC. The rubber band has snapped.

we don't have the resources, but I am sure that Germany or England will step up to the empty plate

We do, we accepted more refugees than almost any other country, and they are doing wonderfully well. Or are you talking about the jobs that white privileged Americans refuse to do, like sanitation, gardening, etc?

Canadians traveling to the US for the same purpose face the same problem. The US is not exempt from work rules in other countries

I know, those Alt-Right Nazi's have really taken over

2014-2015 Canadian Budget SURPLUS: $1.6 billion

2015 U.S. Budget DEFICIT: $438 billion

I'm not talking about LEGALLY immigrated people. Or refugees. Both Canada and Mexico have stricter immigration laws than the U.S., and they both enforce their laws, strictly.
Saucy wrote:Or are you talking about the jobs that white privileged Americans refuse to do, like sanitation, gardening, etc?
Seriously? You want to go there? Are your sure?
Saucy wrote: The US is not exempt from work rules in other countries
You're right, for "privileged" white people, especially Christians.

Like I said, you have no idea.

Actually, to be fair, a lot of Republicans withdrew their support of the guy at the top during the campaign.
IMO, assuming guilt by association here may not be the best thing to do right now.

I've never said Trump was my guy. He is a fool. But for better or worse, he is our fool. And....he beat Hillary. Says a lot about her. Probably more about her than Trump.

I remember studying about what happened the last time world powers withdrew from a world organization and started doing their own thing...

And Lynn, what's with the "Wow...just wow?"

BiT did his best Putin imitation in his post (although Putin used a spring analogy as opposed to a rubber band analogy...but close enough for jazz...)

BTW...this bill, IIRC, comes up every so often.

The reason people are concerned now is we might have a government insane enough to actually pass it...although I'm hoping there's enough rational GOPers left in Congress.

Putin is a smart guy. Dangerous, yes. A not so good guy, yes. But smart. We need to watch him.

I'm struggling with understanding my emotions with the left's hysterics over Trump.

I'm not thrilled he is our President, but its kind of like seeing a bunch of idiots playing with gasoline, and then they catch fire. They are screaming in pain and agony. I don't celebrate their pain and suffering, but at the same time I think "That's what you get.".

I agree. Those protesters in D.C. last week are idiots.

Same as the ones in Ferguson, Baltimore, .......etc.

And the same as those that put an idiot in power.

Globalism has hurt them...I understand that...but the idea that the solution is to tear the entire edifice down is ridiculous, and will only lead to more widespread misery.
