And most people don't burst out into a rage and call someone a f... asshole for making a joke about the death of someone who they almost certainly didn't know very well if at all. I don't recall any such outrage about joking about Janet Reno's death or the others that have provided grist for jokes here.
No, this was someone looking for an excuse to tear into me.
You
are a fucking asshole. Now, you think you know who I know and who I don't know?
It so happens that a friend of the family has a son who is disabled and has responded well to Equine Therapy. We take him to PBR at the Honda Center/Arrowhead Pond every year. We've even taken him to PBR in Vegas on 2 occasions.
We met Ty Pozzobon there and found him to be especially nice and engaging with my friend's son. I was genuinely upset that he had died so suddenly.
You choosing to joke about his death while accepting condolences for a cat demonstrates your hypocrisy at its finest. Fuck off!
First, I wouldn't make a joke about someone who died who I knew had a relationship to someone on this Bored, even a horse's rear end like you.
Second, had you talked in a civil manner, I would have apologized. BiT called me out on this, but he at least did so in a civil manner.
Third, for better or worse, making jokes about dead people (celebrities and otherwise) is something that happens on this Bored on a number of occasions and a whole lot of other places as well, as evidenced by the Janet Reno joke (which wasn't mine). It's not meant maliciously, which I'm sure you know. Yet I can't recall any other instance in which someone jumped on the joker's case with such vehemence as you did. People have been making jokes about "dying in the saddle" since the days of Nelson Rockefeller, and probably a lot longer than that.
BiT posted a picture of a guy with a harpoon in his head with the caption "That's Gonna Leave a Mark." I doubt that man's relatives would have found those comments funny, and I'm sure he wouldn't have posted it had he known they were here. It was intended as a joke, like the Janet Reno joke and like mine.
