All of the answers are correct, although one person is commonly known by a shortened form of his name (meaning I shouldn't have used him.) It's the shortened form I'm looking for.

98. AUGUSTE Renoir + COMTE (Comet) = 34. EMILE DURKHEIM
Hmm. I would guess that means the Renoir-Comte match is wrong, since Renoir's first name is not actually Auguste. I ran across the Comte-Durkheim connection while testing out various anagrams, and thought it was too good to miss. Comte is another one who had multiple first names, though, so maybe he matches up differently with Durkheim.

I looked up 80. WILL KEITH KELLOGG and 96. SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS and they're right, so all the people have been identified. I'm surprised that 54. ALFRED ADLER and 64. SIR ALFRED HITCHCOCK have the same first name.

To avoid any unintended confusion, the Renoir/Comte match is correct. I was referring to Schlegel, which has since been correctly matched. So there is still one name that is incorrect. And he fills a gap you are already aware of.

Oh, poo. I just looked over the consolidation again and one of the matches is -- not wrong, but not what I wanted. And it's because the 'hidden' person is know equally well by two different first names, depending on what country he was in. I should have avoided using him.

One of the 'definites' is wrong. That will become obvious when you get to the point where you're down to one incomplete you can't complete.

One of the completed matches is - well, I won't say wrong, because for all I know it may be a legit alternate, but will not allow you to complete the game. Hint: It all stems from consistent attempts to match someone with this person's first name, when his first name doesn't fit into the puzzle at all. Trying to think of people who are unambiguously linked to this person may yield the match you want.

The anagram in the above completed match is correct, it just has to be associated with a different person whom you haven't matched with anyone yet.

One of the partials is incorrect. The last name goes with a different first name, and the match to someone else on the list will be unambiguous.

Good job on this!

55. The empress never really had that equine affair, but she did have quite a fling with this general, who fathered two of her children and helped her get rid of her husband.

I think this is Grigory Orlov, not Grigory Potemkin, for what it's worth.

Camera anagrams to MacRae, so this will almost certainly be Gordon MacRae.

Well ... this might work

I do not know who Preston Reed is -- and since I was looking for Preston Tucker, I am thinking that is part of Frank's "consistent attempts."

So, this may be the match Frank is talking about BECAUSE

68. WALTER GROPIUS + REED (Deer) used the work of 31. CARLOS FINLAY

in his work with yellow fever.

And if that's not a match, well, it oughta be
