The Boney 500: Song #6

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Fri Dec 23, 2016 9:27 am

6. RIPPLES-GENESIS (1976)
Album: A Trick Of The Tail

Absolutely stunning track from the first album to feature Phil Collins rather than Peter Gabriel on lead vocals. The song is about beauty, and
the inevitable fading of physical beauty. However, the beauty of this song will never fade for me. The acoustic guitars are so lovely, and the
classically influenced middle section also shines. But above all, the elegantly beautiful chorus, including the little piano flourishes in the
closing minutes, makes this one of my all-time favorites.

Another great one for Mr. Collins.

And on to the #1 album!

I must say that during this countdown I have learned a great deal about '70's era Genesis (not the least of which is that I like it a lot)
