The Boney 500: Song #9

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:24 am

Their first two albums are by far my favorites in their catalog, but my favorite SONG came from their 6th album...and here it is..

9. FEELIN' STRONGER EVERY DAY-CHICAGO (1973)
Album: Chicago VI

A midtempo pop-rock number that accelerates like a runaway freight train halfway through, until those wonderful horns are blasting away,
keyboards are burning and the drummer is riding the bell of his cymbal (I've mentioned earlier how much I like that sound), point and
counterpoint vocals ("feelin' stronger every day"/"you know I'm alright, now") over the top of it all. It's a hard charging tune, and
never fails to perk me up big time whenever I hear it. In case you weren't aware of it, listen closely to the section just before those
point/counterpoint vocals begin (at around 3 minutes in). You'll hear them name check a Stones song ("Jumpin' Jack Flash, it's a gas gas gas").
It was years before I knew that. One of those trivial little details that I find amusing...

And another Top Ten worthy!

I'm very familiar with Chicago's first two albums because my brother bought them, but he never bought another one. I guess the first two wore him out.
