RIP Rashaan Salaam

#1 Post by Pastor Fireball » Tue Dec 06, 2016 7:57 pm

1994 Heisman Trophy winner, as a running back at Colorado. Played three seasons with the Chicago Bears thereafter.

Age 42. Possible suicide.

He is the first Heisman winner of the past 55 years to pass on.

Wow. That is an impressive statistic.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Before Salaam, the most recent Heisman winner to pass away was 1957 winner John David Crow (Texas A&M), and he passed away just last year.

Why wouldn't that make Salaam the first Heisman winner of the past 59 years to pass on?

He's probably counting Ernie Davis, who won the Heisman in 1961. However, Davis died in 1963 of leukemia.
