I missed the 1936 Berlin Olympics because I saw 1936 and hit that answer, but unfortunately the second 1936 was a different site. So when I took the survey on how to improve, I told him to make sure the first word on all choices was different. So far, it hasn't come up again.ulysses5019 wrote:This game has me wondering......how many different questions do they ask each day? I wonder if people sign up with several different accounts, see the questions during the day and then use their main account to answer a question they have already seen. This is just speculation. I know that I am slow and I am taking extra care to answer correctly since I missed at least two questions last month rushing to answer.

It wasn't made up but if you tried to google that name you would come up with nothing. The question asked which real person was born Gogothlay. I truly had no idea and guessed Spartacus. They gave me the answer and I tried googling Gogothlay and got nothing. So I went and looked up the answer and found what I assume to be the correct spelling. The sploofus answer was close. Anyway, this was my first miss this month and as of 9am I am back in the 300's. I'll give the correct answer later for those who care.I've never heard of Gogothlay. Are they making stuff up now?

Mine was easy today, about the order of the state quarters.
I'm very interested in the correct answer, Uly.

I've had 2 sports questions so far this month and both have been easy so I'm moving up.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

They must have a zillion questions in their database. I don't think I've had any sports q's this month. I can't remember my choices for Gogothly other than the one I answered and the correct answer.......Geronimo. Wiki says it's either Goyathlay or Goyahkla. But I can't find the sploofus spelling anywhere. And congrats to tmitsss and the others who are perfect so far this month. My miss has me nearing the 500 mark.

That makes sense. Oh, and my q was about ancient Greece.I just got my question about Venezuelan geography. I went from #44 to #2. I think it's easier to move up on the weekend, when cubicle dwellers are away from the office. Then they come back to work(?) on Mondays and answer a backlog of three questions.

I'm hurt ya'll don't consider me competition. I'm currently at Level 11, whatever that means, and I'm 4857 of 44042, which means Im' about in the top 11%. Not quite the top 100. Oh well....
My question today was a vocabulary question...which one of these words doesn't belong. I answered correctly in 9.13 seconds.

Before answering this morning I was 50, I got it right and jumped to 5, now down to 8.

Not related to sploofus, but I played my Monday night bar trivia. We sucked and missed the final question on population.......which one syllable city in the United States has the largest population?
But who cares about that? We had the best team name of the night, "You can have my answers when you pry them from my cold dead fingers". Ok, not so pc but other teams include Gaydolf Titler, Church of the Latter Day Skanks and the Tullamore Jews.

My question never arrived today. Until I read this somewhere in this thread, I didn't know that you can sign on and take your daily question on demand, so that's what I did just now.
I've been registered with Sploofus for about 11 months and have accumulated 333,638 total points. I am at level 25.4. I am ranked #6536 out of 44,037. That all sounded reasonable, until I saw the point totals some other people have. There are several people who have somehow accumulated in the neighborhood of 40 billion points. I don't know how that happens. I guess I'm going to have to live a long time to pass them.

I think that you can get more points if you take additional trivia quizzes.TheConfessor wrote:My question never arrived today. Until I read this somewhere in this thread, I didn't know that you can sign on and take your daily question on demand, so that's what I did just now.

I think if you are a paying subscriber you can make bets with accumulated points to raise your totals.TheConfessor wrote:My question never arrived today.
