I'M A MICHIGAN FAN,BUT I THINK WHAT HAPPENED AT OHIO STATE THIS MORNING IS DISGUSTING. THE LASTEST IS THAT THEY IDENTIFIED THE SUSPECT AND HE HAD A MIDDLE EASTERN SOUNDING NAME.

THIS IS SCARY. MY SIL WORKS AT WESTERN MICIGAN UNIVERSITY, AND HER JOB IS TO GO ALL OVER THE WORLD AND RECRUIT STUDENTS TO COME TO WESTERN. THEY HAVE AROUND 599 OR SO STUDENTS FROM MIDEASTERN COUNTRIES ATTENDING SCHOOL THERE. TOO SCARY TO THINK ABOUT.
I'm just a game show nerd.

Apparently all the shooting was done by the patrol officer taking down the suspect (driving into a crowd and stabbing folks who didn't get away).

Suspect (now thankfully deceased):
- 18-year-old of Somali descent,
- legal permanent resident.

Quote of the day.....(bolded)
Now, as nine people try to recover from their wounds, investigators are trying to determine a motive, and whether the attack is terror-related.
"We have to consider that it is that possibility," Columbus Police Chief Kimberley Jacobs said.

The suspect was identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, an OSU student, officials said at a press conference this afternoon

Looks like it. Or maybe that's how they celebrate big football wins where he comes from.

Or his girlfriend broke up with him.

Or he's failing a few classes.

Or he thinks that some of his instructors are unfair.

Or he was really homesick.

Or he's tired of being profiled.

Or maybe he's a terrorist.

I didn't imply it WAS terrorism, just that it is a "no shit" they should consider the possibility. Even if the guy was white (non-Hispanic) and named John Morris. The actions themselves mirror several confirmed terrorist acts.

Apparently the attacker had feelings of alienation. This appears to be more of a psychological problem than terroristic.

Here's a quote from him in the school newspaper: “I wanted to pray in the open, but I was scared with everything going on in the media. I’m a Muslim, it’s not what the media portrays me to be. If people look at me, a Muslim praying, I don’t know what they’re going to think, what’s going to happen. But, I don’t blame them. It’s the media that put that picture in their heads so they’re just going to have it and it, it’s going to make them feel uncomfortable. I was kind of scared right now. But I just did it. I relied on God. I went over to the corner and just prayed.”

And now the asshole has fulfilled everything that others feared in him. Glad he relied on his God for guidance.

Why do some people have such a problem admitting such obvious conclusions that some guy who posts his admiration of ISIS or Al Quida is motivated by terrorism? I mean, dad-gum, quit avoiding the obvious.

At the time I posted the details of that were not known.

Looks like it might be a 3.5 liter caliber.
