25. ALL THINGS MUST PASS-GEORGE HARRISON (1970)

Wow. Talk about your dams bursting. With the collapse of the Beatles, George's stockpile of unused compositions came rushing out in
a tidal wave with this triple record set. Although one of the records was comprised of a number of instrumental jams, it nonetheless
proved once and for all that Mr. Harrison was a formidable songwriter in his own right. Even more remarkable was that the sessions for
the album yielded TWO MORE albums' worth of songs, which have yet to see the light of day legitimately. Some of the songs here were
written during sessions for the White Album, but were rejected by the group for inclusion. One of them was "Art of Dying". I find it
hard to believe that they felt that song was not as good as "Piggies", "Savoy Truffle", or "Long Long Long". Even more astonishing is
that the song "All Things Must Pass" was nixed by Lennon and McCartney during the sessions for what would eventually become "Let It Be".
Did they really think "I Me Mine" and "For You Blue" were better? Or maybe were they feeling a little threatened by George's emerging
songwriting talents and they were deliberately sabotaging him? Makes you wonder...whatever the reason, they ultimately did us a favor

I'll love to listen to this at work tonight.

He is the favorite of many it seems. Getting out from the immense shadows of John and Paul was of great benefit to him. He had stockpiled a lot of terrific tunes, as evidenced by this recording.
