30. THE CARS-THE CARS (1978)

One of the best debut albums of all time. Insanely catchy Pop-Rock/New Wave gems. Even my least favorite song on the record,
"I'm In Touch With Your World" is not completely terrible. Well, OK, pretty close, though.

Just a fun, fun album.

In 1979 my college roommate ridiculed be as being "punk" because I liked the Cars. He was a die-hard Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull guy. Several years later he had several Cars albums in his collection.

The Cars kept the sound going for a few more albums before running out of steam in the 90s. Their debut album is a gem and I'm happy to see it so high up on your list.

It's true that Rick Ocasek is no Jon Bon Jovi, but, hey, he got the girl (and kept the girl):
