38. TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION-ELTON JOHN (1970)
Didn't think all that much of this album when it first came out. Only in recent years have I come to love it. Some call it
country, and certainly it has plenty of country influence, but I think it's better described by the term used often these days,
"Americana". Whatever you wanna call it, there are some tremendous tunes on here. Not the kind of music we most associate with
Sir Elton, but a great listen. Strangely enough, although there are a lot of great songs, there's a bonus track on
the cd reissues, "Into The Old Man's Shoes", which was not on the original version of the album, that I like best of all. No
hit singles, but one of his better known songs from the early days, "Burn Down The Mission", comes from this album.

I think one more EJ album and you'll be done with him. Only one better than this in my book, and it is really could be a toss-up.T_Bone0806 wrote:38. TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION-ELTON JOHN (1970)
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

I'm pretty sure the one with initials GYBR is coming soon.BackInTex wrote:I think one more EJ album and you'll be done with him. Only one better than this in my book, and it is really could be a toss-up.T_Bone0806 wrote:38. TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION-ELTON JOHN (1970)

I guess that one should be somewhere, maybe, but I was thinking more the one with initials MATW. If A&M can be #4 in the playoff rankings I guess there can be room for a couple more EJ albums.Vandal wrote:I'm pretty sure the one with initials GYBR is coming soon.BackInTex wrote:I think one more EJ album and you'll be done with him.
