Baby Boy Update

#1 Post by Bixby17 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 3:45 pm

I will be doing a FanHouse post on this and other things hopefully late tonight though I don't know when it will be published.

To Pea,

I was close enough to Phil today that I could have kissed him if I were so inclined and didn't mind being tasered and jailed.

He was unfailingly nice. Even though he is loved so much, it looked like people were going to crush him. They are actually going to make the exit line a little wider because after the 18th hole, it was a mob scene. I was in the middle of the hubbub, and I started feeling panicky for him. Everybody is yelling to get stuff signed and it was nuts.

I should have video.

You would have appreciated what happened after he met with the media. He was asked to do some promo for an upcoming tournament in August. He was wiped out but said he'd do it anyway. He read the script, tried to memorize it and talk into the camera.

And then he flubbed his lines like crazy. He had to retake it a bunch of times and was always good natured about it.

Then the media types wanted to talk to him after, but he just said "hey, I'm just tapped, let's do this tomorrow" and hauled ass.

Phil looked good. You didn't look at him and think, hey he is Chubby Phil. I think a MM has to be created who is Not-So-Chubby Phil.

The media stuff will say that he loved the course. Sometimes players say that and don't really mean it. But I know someone who talked to his caddy, and the caddy says he likes the course.

Low scores for the first couple of days because the course is damp. Weekend should be dry. If you watch any Golf Channel stuff from the tournament, you might see me lurking in the background, trying to be unobtrusive.

LOL.

Funny thing about that. I saw these people I always see at Texans games and went up to say hi and they didn't recognize me in my boring civilian clothes.

Thank you for the report.

I love hearing good things about Baby Boy.

I hear 'phoney' far too often regarding this man who just makes me melt with adoration. He is real and open and someone I think could be my friend.

He is looking good too!

Here's my full report:

My golf coverage is uh, unconventional. I figure there is no sense for me to cover the things the same way that real media is doing it because I would certainly do their job worse than they do.

Actually, with all the people around, the person I find the most impressive is Adam Scott.

Of course, he is easy on the eyes, but he has that Aussie thing going and is extremely polite and well spoken.

I love that you talked about people saying he is phoney. I have never thought that of him. If I were to want to marry a golfer, he would be the kind of golfer I would marry.

The kid in the wheelchair must have loved that!

Gary is the kid who competed in the Ultimate Fan Contest with me. He changed hats in the video. He and his mom and aunt were decked out in Giants gear that they got from a Giants scout they met.

I gave him grief about being a bandwagoneer.
