Oooh, it's getting serious now..into the Album Top 50 list we go, with an artist that Skoop alerted me to years ago, with this very album. I've been a Folds fan ever since.
50. ROCKIN' THE SUBURBS-BEN FOLDS (2001)
His first solo album (although he was the dominant factor in Ben Folds Five anyway), it remains
my favorite. The songwriting is extraordinary, lyrics that range from snarky to touching to
hilarious, and rich melodies that stay with you (in a good way). This is one of the first artists
I bring up when somebody says that nobody makes good music anymore.
OH IF YOU'RE PLAYING THIS at work or around little ears,
be advised that Ben tosses in some colorful language from time to time.
