At the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy, defeated and killed Anglo-Saxon King Harold, leading to his succession to the English throne. It was the last successful invasion of the British Isles. According to Geni.com, King William is the 22nd great-grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II and the 20th great-grandfather of Bob Juch.

Um no, he's my 24th great-grandfather.

He fought the Battle of Hastings on his 42nd birthday.
