A baseball thought

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Thu Oct 06, 2016 8:08 pm

With my beloved Mets now out of the running, it occurs to me that it's entirely possible for the League Championship Series to end up as Indians-Rangers and Nationals-Cubs. I'd find that cool simply because none of those teams have won the World Series during my lifetime, and two of them have never won it at all. --Bob

Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard tweeted this after the game last night. It is a great quote.

"Baseball has a way of ripping your heart out, stabbing it, putting it back in your chest, then healing itself just in time for Spring Training."

On the flip side, you could just as easily have Red Sox-Blue Jays and Giants-Dodgers... all of whom have won World Series just since I started following baseball in 1988. Given the playoff fortunes of Bob's list, I'd say the final four bears a little more resemblance to this...
