Jsut a hello and brief update
Hey, folks. Haven't been around much the last couple of weeks, for reasons known to the FB bunch. For everyone else, my mom passed away last Tuesday after two weeks under hospice care. She died as she wanted, at home, in her own bed, with loved ones around her for the previous two weeks. We've decided it was like sitting shivah in reverse, with the death happening at the end. We all got to say goodbye in our own way. Tomorrow's the funeral and my brain got me up at 4:30 this morning thinking about finishing touches on my eulogy and all the work needed on cleaning out the house.
One dresser drawer was an archeological dig, with photos going back into the early 19th and possibly last 18th century. Certainly my great-grandmother was in there amidst all the other family pics. One word of advice for the pack rats among us - get rid of all the old electric bills, ancient tax records (going back into the 1990's and including a random W-2 from 1981), myriad vases from flower deliveries and the overall detritus of your lives. I can understand saving one broken wooden tray, where you might believe you'll fix it one day, but three? That says a lot about the frugal child of the Depression that Mom was.
Not looking for sympathy or anything, just felt like updating the BBs. If you want to do something, donate to the USO. Mom always felt that they did a lot for her and Dad during WWII so she always gave them some money each year.

Sorry for your loss Gordon. I saw your sad post on FB but didn't realize what it was for. Remember, you have much more to celebrate about her than mourn.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Sympathies for your loss, Gordon.
