Li'l Spock-The Transgender Activist

#1 Post by Spock » Thu Sep 08, 2016 2:23 pm

I had kind of wondered of Li'l Spock might become more liberal at college-but Come on-2 1/2 weeks is all he was able to last.

He got written up by his hall director-Of course, remembering my college days-asked if it was for alcohol.

No. Apparently, he got something on his hands and from where he was standing he could only see the "men" on the bathroom sign-not the "Wo". He ducked in for 3 seconds and washed his hands-Hall director wrote him up for using the women's bathroom.

The Hall director would not go stand where Li'l Spock was standing -so he has to meet with the hall director from another dorm and etc etc.

Li'l Spock said he thought about playing the "You are assuming my gender" card-but figured that might blow up pretty big.

Well, most people who hasten into the bathroom don't do it because of needing to wash their hands.
(At least, not 'til afterward.)

I & a mother with a small child (we were coming from diff cars, didn't know each other) once innocently rushed into a not-very-well-marked rest area restroom. Oh, the sights, the awful sights! I don't know about the kid, who may even have been a boy, but the rest of us may never recover.

That excuse didn't work for me 40 years ago. Some things haven't changed.

Now I am trying too remember if the bathrooms in my dorms had any sign on the door
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
