Wedding news - nuttin'. We all need to sit down with the venue's list and decide on what we want. Still leaning toward the buffet style setup, which gives everyone more choice on their meal selection and avoids some kosher and allergy issues. So what if it's the most expensive option?
After the funeral luncheon, which had enough food to serve at least twice the number of table settings that were available, GW called our venue to ask about the possibility of donating extra food from the wedding to the local food pantry. She was assured that there would not be much extra. They pointed out that the number attending a wedding is known more accurately than the same for a funeral. Regardless, it's a shame if any perfectly good food has to get tossed.
I've also gotta finish off our taxes. It looks like we're gonna owe quite a bit to the federal revenooers, in part because I forgot to pay estimated taxes on a stock sale. The proceeds were immediately moved to another stock, so while I knew I'd owe taxes (long-term, thank ghu) I neglected that detail of setting aside Uncle Sam's cut. But I just realized that the transaction fees are deductible. Not too large, but every little bit helps.

Oh, so that's why your withholdings were so short. Of course!gsabc wrote:I've also gotta finish off our taxes. That's what this blog needs more of, by the way: discussion of stock transactions!
But not necessarily of taxes.

That is a very thoughtful thing to think of and to make sure happens.gsabc wrote: After the funeral luncheon, which had enough food to serve at least twice the number of table settings that were available, GW called our venue to ask about the possibility of donating extra food from the wedding to the local food pantry.
