No, I skipped J! last night. Last month, I gave the civfanatics "Game of the Month" a try and found out how lacking my Civ III micromanagement skills were. I was only about a millenium behind the leader's pace in getting a domination victory!earendel wrote:Did you happen to catch the J! clue last night that made reference to this?MarleysGh0st wrote:"Intentionality edition"
<Inigo_Montoya>You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.</Inigo_Montoya>

So COTM 47 started on Tuesday, with an Emperor level game. I've been sticking one level lower, at Monarch, but I'm not doing too badly so far.

You know this comment just screams "nerd!" I know because I live with one. For a while on the 1st and 2nd of April, he was the #1 ranked Carcasonne player in the world, but when I went to bed last night, he was #2.MarleysGh0st wrote:No, I skipped J! last night. But not a TV-worthy sterotype nerd that the APs might find amusing.

I don't know if I am that deep.

Intentionality is the power of minds to be about, to represent, or to stand for, things, properties and states of affairs. The puzzles of intentionality lie at the interface between the philosophy of mind and the philosophy of language. The word itself, which is of medieval Scholastic origin, was rehabilitated by Franz Brentano towards the end of the nineteenth century. ‘Intentionality’ is a philosopher's word. It derives from the Latin word intentio, which in turn derives from the verb intendere, which means being directed towards some goal or thing. The entry falls into eleven sections:

Tripwires don't snare people (corporeal or incorporeal). But if one isn't very, very careful around them, something goes BOOM!littlebeast13 wrote:I thought ghosts could only be snared by crossing the streams....MarleysGh0st wrote:No comment.littlebeast13 wrote:

I found the bored probably only days before the great TB invasion (or whatever it was that led to the exodus) and migrated to the GC shortly afterwards. I probably only had a handful of posts on the bored outside the GC in the intervening years until returning to post more often in the last year or two.
Still, 3000 is a good deal more than I thought I had!

Sure!gsabc wrote:I want to get to 1000 here in six months, and that's less than a week away. I need to do some gratuitous posting.
Interested in giving lessons, pea?
Lesson # 1
Start with the premise that no post is gratuitous. Each and every one you make could make an impact, somehwere, on someone. It could make them think, it could make them happy, it could give them a shove to act in some way (like do something), it could make them laugh and lighten their load and it could piss them off and clear the fog out of their head.
Once you have that lesson down, let me know and you can have lesson # 2.

Ya mean I could tell people to shove it, and they'll laugh and piss off? Or make them think they're happy?peacock2121 wrote:Sure!gsabc wrote:I want to get to 1000 here in six months, and that's less than a week away. I need to do some gratuitous posting.

Then I should retire undefeated. I've only played the game once. Apparently, I beat the best. --BobPlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:You know this comment just screams "nerd!" I know because I live with one.
