LOL. Anyone who believes that probably believes Iran released the four prisoners out of the goodness of their heart and it had nothing to do with $400 million cash.
That's horrible. If only we had a good strong President like Ronald Reagan, this would never happen. Certainly we wouldn't sell arms to those Iranians to help finance the overthrow of a lawfully elected foreign government.

What's horrible is we paid $100 million per prisoner. If we'd gone through Israel, like Reagan did, we could have got them for wholesale!
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

 I'm pleased the Bored can tolerate a bit of ethnic humor.

Unfortunately, Israel is usually bested by the Arabs in these negotiations. Too bad James Donovan (played by Tom Hanks in Bridge of Spies) is no longer living.

On a semi-serious note, the Olympics couldn't have come at a better time for Trump. His poll numbers are plummeting, but at least for the next two weeks, most of the national attention will be on the Olympics and not the presidential race (in other election years, the conventions have followed the Olympics). So, the usual day-to-day reporting on the election will get shoved to the back burner, and even "normal" Trump outrages will get relatively little coverage. Of course, with Trump, being out of the spotlight for two weeks is probably a huuuuge blow to his ego, so he could well say something incredibly stupid just to reclaim some attention.

You'd think the MSM would be all over this since it supports the view that Trump loves Russia. But it hasn't been mentioned. Guess it isn't sensational enough.
Manafort has left the Trump campaign to make room for the new big shots. In related news, Putin has shaken up his staff, so there may be a job opening for Manafort in the Kremlin.

Somehow, I thing a shakeup under Putin might be a bit more, well, shaky than anything in the west.

No, I'm sure the firing squads are not shaky. :P

So far, Putin's cronies have just been demoted:
Putin removes chief of staff in major Kremlin shakeup

But opposition leaders have been less fortunate:

Conversely, to get an idea of the future, if we continue on the path we are following.

A shrinking of public events and so forth.
