I Just Won the Lottery
Well, in a manner of speaking.
Actually, I won't be playing the lottery for quite some time to come.
Because I just got a job with the Georgia Lottery as a contract manager. Considering that they have machines in almost every convenience store in the state, not to mention the companies that print the tickets and do PR and so forth, so that's a lot of contracts to manage. It means I won't have to scramble the way I've been doing the last few months since I got laid off when Courtroom View Network cut back.
So, I'll be starting Monday. I'm not sure how much Bored Browsing I'll be able to do there; that's the first question I'll ask.

Congratulations.
I guess this means your dream of becoming a forest ranger are forever dashed.

After that, ask your boss how much he makes. We'd like to know that, too!silverscreenselect wrote:I'm not sure how much Bored Browsing I'll be able to do there; that's the first question I'll ask.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

$300,000, or at least that what she was making when she got the job. I'm sure I could find out what it is now since she's a public official.BackInTex wrote:After that, ask your boss how much he makes. The Lottery is actually a state authority, similar to the Georgia Port Authority, but not a state agency, so it's somewhat of a cross between a government agency and a private corporation. My benefits will be through private benefit plans not through the State.

Congrats! Maybe not quite as good as winning a lottery jackpot, but good enough for government work.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Let's raise the flag in celebration
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
