The Boney 500: Album #126

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Fri Jul 01, 2016 10:38 am

One more to add to the album list before taking a break for the weekend.

126. RETURN TO POOH CORNER-KENNY LOGGINS

A charming album full of songs aimed at children, it's a wonderful collection of lullabyes for grownups, too..some of
which weren't originally considered children's songs. Loggins' update on his own "House At Pooh Corner" touches the
heart, and his take on "Rainbow Connection" even gives Kermit himself a run for his money.

If this had been LS, I think I'd have answered Dan Fogelberg for "House on Pooh Corner." It just seems more like his kind of music than Kenny's, and I guess I always assumed it was him...

The original version was on the first Loggins and Messina album. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band also did a nice cover, which actually came out BEFORE Loggins' own version. He wrote it as a high school senior facing graduation and leaving childhood behind.

It's actually not that unusual to confuse Kenny Loggins and Dan Fogelberg. My mother loves the song "Run for the Roses", but she keeps thinking that Kenny sang it.
