Classic NFL Games on YouTube

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri Jul 01, 2016 9:21 am

The NFL has released its list of 96 classic games that will soon be available in their entirety on YouTube in the near future. Fans of each team voted for their favorites, and three games were chosen for each team (obviously many teams appear more than three times, showing up as the losing team in other teams' "greatest" games). Although there are bootlegs of some of these games already on YouTube, these versions will be authorized and presumably have top notch production values.

The New York Giants' three games are Superbowl 42 against the Patriots, the overtime NFC championship game of that same year against the Packers, and Superbowl 25 (the Scott Norwood "wide right" game). The Giants also show up as the opponent in one of the Eagle's three games, not the Csonka fumble game, but another disastrous choke, the 2010 game that ended on a DeSean Jackson punt return TD.

Here's a complete list of the games that will be available:

I'm convinced that the NFL fans were deliberately trolling our Merry Men with this choice. Well played, guys...

not just the Merry Men. That's not the only painful memory here...the Music City Miracle, the Super Bowl slaughter by the Cowboys, and the Browns win don't exactly put smiles on my face either. As far as the good stuff, I already have the greatest comeback game on an NFL produced DVD, and the Raiders demolition game on a VHS tape, so the shootout with the 49'ers is the only one of interes for me.
