There's no clock any more, so if you know the names of the Presidents (you don't even need to know them in order), you can just walk through the list. --Bob

It amazes me how many people lost $15,000 or $25,000 this season. :(

I would've used ATA on $5,000, and then 50/50 on the $10,000 question and guessed the wrong answer. :(

The fact that they said "ophthalmologist Rand Paul" didn't give you the answer?

Raymelle Greening was asked this exact same question on the January 28, 2001 episode, before I got into the hot seat. It was Super Bowl Sunday. Raymelle was once an active Bored member here. She missed a disputed question about King Midas for 500K. The question was just slightly trickier in 2001, because an additional president George took office between the tape date and the broadcast date. But it still wasn't a close decision and George was easy to eliminate as a choice. No history teacher +1 was needed.

Both his instructional video (for participants) and the actual ceremony are still available on YouTube. Does 266k views in a year really constitute a "viral" video?

500: easy

1,000: easy

2,000: took me a little bit to figure it out, but I got it

3,000: the only one that's sparsely populated is the Rockies

5,000: I knew Rand Paul was a surgeon, but I didn't know exactly what kind of surgeon he was. Since only one of the options is a surgeon, I go with that.

7,000: I was lost at first, but then I saw Venn and made the connection with overlapping circles.

10,000: basically find the Brit. By process of elimination, I chose Sam Smith.

20,000: I could make out "protist" in "protozoology," and chose amoebas.

30,000: I'd heard this fact in school a while back. It was James then, and it's still James now.

I'd be facing the 50K question with all three lifelines intact.
