Pump up the vibeage (new thread, same subject)

#1 Post by SpacemanSpiff » Thu Apr 14, 2016 11:42 am

Just got confirmation of an in-person interview on Monday for the position I've been on the phone with a couple of times.

The agency involved said yesterday that if it goes through, they'd want me to start May 2. That would be ideal, since I was told earlier this week that I would be gone here next Friday (April 22), so I'd only be out a week.

They also said that it'd be a temp-to-perm thing, 60 to 90 days max as temp. No arguments there.

I feel like I'm bogarting the vibeage requests, but please keep those vibeage cards and letters coming in!

Thanks!

Hurry up and wait time

Interview went spiffy (if I do say so myself). Pretty certain I've nailed it, since the local guy said he's getting the HR person in the head office to start things in motion. Nice local operation of a larger outfit that acquired it last year and, better yet, will keep it. I'll just feel better once it's official - but that's the way I am (and why I take loooots of pills...)

But, if it works out, I'd start May 2.

I'll keep y'all posted, and thanks for all of the vibeage!

Praise be! The vibeage worked!!!!

I'll be starting May 2 at the local (meaning North American) office of GRW High Precision Ball Bearings, which is based out of Germany; it was bought out last December by a division of Kaman Corporation, an aerospace company based out of Connecticut.

(Yes, Spaceman Spiff is now technically in the aerospace industry.)

A lot of what I'll get to do is gruntwork, but a lot is getting things transitioned between the new owners and how things are now, and that's a specialty of mine.

Thanks for all of the support from y'all! The neo-jipters strike again!

Yay, Spiff! WTG! Best of luck; hope it all works out just the way you want it to.
