Changing Destiny's Child to En Vogue in the consolidation made me look at how many song titles there seem to be in the artist names....

1. USA for Africa
5. A Taste of Honey
10. The Miracles
12. The Human Beans

etc. etc. etc....

Don McLean's really only known for two songs, and with "Cherry Pie" in the puzzle, that almost has to link up somehow....

I'm not really sure if this is the right format or not, but I'll throw it out there anyway...

47. AMERICAN + 26. PIE = 97. VINCENT (Don McLean)

Seems a bit odd, but then again, I'm not an experienced Tangredi player...

54. And your mind, your tiny mind,
You know you've really been so blind.
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind.

Looked it up because I thought it might be right.

FIRE - The CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN

gives us

83. WALKING + 5. AFTER MIDNIGHT = 54. CRAZY (Patsy Cline)

And I will bet that 90. JUMP is here for Van Halen or The Pointer Sisters (or both!). Just have to figure out the songs.

I should mention that krox messed up one of the artist's names in his last consolidation. He listed the singer of "Doctor's Orders" as Carl Douglas, who sang "Kung Fu Fighting". The singer of "Doctor's Orders" was Carol Douglas. That's important, especially if there's a Chuck Berry song on here. One of his songs was called "Carol".

64. LET'S + 100. ROCK = 34. MONEY (Barrett Strong)

34. HOLD + 78. THE LINE = 1. AFRICA (Toto)

60. THIS + 36. KISS = 74. BREATHE (Faith Hill)

NOW, this causes a problem, because it's the third use of #34 and it's supposed to only be used twice. I am sure it will work out. So, either this is wrong or my Toto match is wrong.

34. BABY + 10. LOVE = 71. REFLECTIONS (The Supremes)

I think this may be the first double-word artist-title we've found so far...

Barrett Strong may be too obscure of an artist for Frank to include... although I have certainly been guilty of using obscure artists in my game

I'll add this one:

67. DON'T YOU + 88. WANT ME = 12. HUMAN (Human League)

One of the few artists to have a #1 hit with a song title that was included in the artist's name.

He is. I try to stick with things that made the singles charts or were significantly well-known album cuts. BUT ... don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

i.e.... look for a Pink Floyd song.

Which I can't find right off the bat, and won't have time to work on this anymore until later in the day....

Obviously, I can't go any farther in this game without mentioning 20. FAME. Two very different and very famous songs called "Fame". One or both may be used here.

David Bowie has about 50 years' worth of songs to choose from, but this may be the intended match:

64. LET'S + 75. DANCE = 20. FAME (David Bowie)

Irene Cara's discography, on the other hand, is pretty concise. I think she had only four Top 40 hits that weren't Oscar-winning movie themes. The most likely Irene Cara single to show up here would be "Why Me", her follow-up to "Flashdance (What a Feeling)". "Me" shows up in a couple of titles here, but no "Why" yet. Be on the lookout for that later.

Not sure if Frank would allow this one, as I'm merely dropping the "-ing" from the Chicago song:

86. WISH + 15. YOU WERE HERE = 34. MONEY

One more before I go:

I went ahead and looked up the remaining unknown lyrics since I don't think anyone else is gonna swoop in at this point and identify them. Only one was an oldie that might've been gettable, and #11 is a Mecca song that must not have gotten played enough for me to recognize those lyrics...

Anyway, on with the consolidation...

Identify the 100 songs in the clues below. (Most are from the pop charts, but we make a few excursions elsewhere.) Then, match them into 40 triples according to a Tangredi, or principle you must discover for yourself. Twenty songs will be used twice, each time in a different capacity.

Even removing the Barrett Strong match, we still have three uses of Song #34. My bet would be on the Surpemes match being wrong since they had a much more extensive collection of possible songs...
