RIP Gogi Grant

of "The Wayward Wind" fame which ended Elvis' first number 1 record's run.

Never cared for that song very much, to be honest.."Wind", that is, not "Heartbreak Hotel".

I love it. I've sung it. In front of Actual People.

I've seen her sing it on at least one oldies show.

I like the song a lot, probably because I heard it so much when I was a kid. I can't say I'll miss that "lush voice" because I've heard it very little over the past few decades (maybe a Time-Life special here or there), but, as the local radio station says, it's part of the "soundtrack of my life."
