In more Republican news...

#1 Post by SpacemanSpiff » Thu Mar 03, 2016 9:32 am

This guy makes Mr. Trump look like Saint Pope John Paul II.

At first, I thought I might have opened an article on The Onion instead of the Washington Post.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/mor ... bylicious/
It’s 2 a.m. Eastern time — long past the hour when many reporters and politicians have gone to sleep. But Robert Morrow, newly elected Republican chair of Travis County, Tex. — which includes Austin, the state capital — is ready to talk to The Washington Post, though he deems it a “scum” media organization that covered up the truth about the murder of President John F. Kennedy. Morrow has a message for Republican in Travis County who woke up March 2 to realize they now were led by a conspiracy theorist who tweets photos of large-breasted women with comments such as “I am feeling boobylicious tonight!!”

“I don’t give a flying f—,” Morrow said. “… My enemies are pushing on a string. They have no legal recourse to get rid of me. I’ve been getting out my word about the criminality of the Bush-Clinton crime family and serial murderer Lyndon Johnson. It’s a smashing success.”
Among the things he's said is:

The JFK killing is a conspiracy (OK, he's probably not the only one in government), specifically that LBJ had a major hand in it
That former Texas governor Rick Perry is a "rampaging bisexual adventurer"
That Chelsea Clinton's father is Webb Hubbell
That George W. Bush is a closet homosexual
That Barbara Bush is a "drunken cuckold"

Oy.

He may be a Republican, but he's obviously an equal-opportunity heckler.

I read the transcript of Romney's takedown of Trump. I'm not sure which I find more surprising. That Romney (seconded by McCain) felt compelled to do that to the front-runner for their party's nomination, or that it probably won't matter. --Bob

I have a feeling that if Trump does become the nominee, you'll be hearing sound bites from that a lot this fall in Hillary's ads.

"Every Trump sentence has words. Sometimes three words. Or two. And they're great sentences. Terrific sentences. That I can tell you. Believe me. They're great. With the best words. Terrific repeated words. Not very big words. Every Trump sentence has words."

Something I thought about in the previous debate, and even more so after last night's in Detroit.

Does anyone know how to turn off a microphone in the director's booth? It seems that every time one candidate says something that another candidate doesn't, he interrupts and off we go.

Yes, I know it won't happen. It helps fuel ratings (see my earlier message about debates without ratings), and/or it risk offending candidates who, in many years, might not be open to debate anyway.

The same thing applies to these guys who talk on for a good 15 seconds after the chime goes on to say that their speaking time is up. Or maybe they should start pumping in some patriotic music (a la the Oscars) to get them to conform.

Just my two cents.

Maybe they could pump in a little "Es zittern die morschen Knochen". The candidates should respond to that pretty easily.

You're welcome, Mr. Godwin.

Last night reminded me of one of those wrestling handicap matches when two or three guys would fight Andre the Giant.

And speaking of wrestling:
